(Term 1.2)

As we draw to the end of another busy term, it is time to reflect on how much the pupils have achieved this term. We have been busy with house photography and badminton competitions, and we have had whole school celebrations of Loy Krathong and Father's Day. In addition, Year 11 pupils have been through a rigorous mock exam week, and the Year 10 pupils also got an opportunity to practise an exam in a formal style.

Year 11 Science

Pupils conducting investigations to test a hypothesis.

Year 7 Science

Pupils undertaking experiments.

Year 10 Science

Careful concentration as the correct amounts of solution are added.

Our annual Father's Day celebration showcased some of the amazing talents of our pupils. The whole of secondary performed a song whilst Federico, Year 7, performed an excellent saxophone solo.

These Year 8 pupils are having lots of fun learning all about anatomy.

Year 8 and 9 pupils have been studying uneven development across the continents. To demonstrate this the pupils played the biscuit game; wars broke out over the chocolate digestives!

In geography, Year 7 pupils demonstrate how height can be shown on a map using contour lines. They made mountains out of Play-Doh and tied string around them in intervals. They then placed the string on the whiteboard to show 2D contour lines, which could be drawn onto a map. Also in geography, Year 10 have created long profiles of a river using Play- Doh and annotated whiteboards to show how the landscape and the shape and size of the load changes downstream.

Year 7 pupils are enjoying their drama lessons, practising their role play skills. Year 7s also enjoy their reading, where they are shown here engrossed in their books during their weekly library session.

In English, Year 8 pupils have been involved in some lively debates. Pupils have also undertaken paired work to further deepen their knowledge and understanding.

Year 8 pupils are deep in concentration in individual activities in Chinese lessons.

All of secondary took part in a house Christmas card exchange. Pupils in secondary were given a name of a child in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and each student made a card for their partner. We went across to primary classes to give the pupils their cards; all of the pupils enjoyed exchanging the cards and it created a real community Christmas spirit amongst the houses.

Our first house photography competition saw some amazing photography; below are our winners.

Our winner, Alex, and runner up, Peter.
