Who are the SDGs Ambassadors?
SDGs Ambassadors are students at Toyo University who engage in various activities that help Toyo and the world achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There are thousands of ways to work as an SDGs Ambassador, including organizing learning events, coordinating volunteer activities, or hosing study group in the dormitory. Therefore, the Ambassadors are expected to excel not only in academic performance but also social, communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
What is offered
Awarded students will:
Receive 100% waiver of tuition and other fees (first year) and 60-100% waiver of tuition and other fees (second to fourth year)
Stay in Toyo's international dormitory and the dormitory fees will be covered by the University
Have an faculty advisor and student mentor for planning, organizing, and conducting SDGs-related events and activities.
Who is eligible
You should apply for the SDGs Ambassador Program at the same time you apply for admission in Toyo.
Those who have completed (or are expected to complete) 12-year education
Those who satisfy other eligibility requirements for admission
Those who are willing to be a leader in Toyo community and actively engage in various activities that help achieve the SDGs
Those who meet the following language requirement:
Applicants applying for English-taught programs should meet one of the following:
IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 94, or TOEIC L&R 780 + S&W 310Applicants applying for Japanese-taught programs should meet both English and Japanese requirements:
IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 79 or TOEIC L&R 780
Japanese language test score required by the department that you are applying for (specified in the Application Guide)
Please note that the above language requirements are higher than those for admission application.

How to apply
You apply for the SDGs Program when you apply for admission at the same time by submitting an additional document along with other application documents for admission. Here is what you need to do to apply for the scholarship:
Read the Application Guide carefully and prepare for admission documents.
Create action plans for SDGs Ambassador activities.
This is an additional document that is required to apply for the SDGs Ambassador Program. In your action plans, you should describe what kinds of activities you would like to engage in and what contribution you can make in 4 years.Submit admissions documents and SDGs action plans online during the application period.
Screening committee will conduct document screening. You may be invited to an online interview upon committee's request.
Final result will be announced.
September 2024 Admissions
Application period: February 8 - 19
Online interview: April 13 or 15
Final result announcement: April 25 (You will find the result of admission as well as selection of SDGs Ambassador)
