At the younge age of 14 Sliwa opened the first recycling center in Brooklyn, at the age of 20 Curtis Sliwa got a job at a restaurant in Harlem as a bodyguard, during this job he realized the terrible state that the city was in and knew he had to make a positive change to the city he loved. In his job he faced an unfathomable amount of violent crime, he was sick and tired of innocent people being wronged by criminals therefore in 1976 he decided to start the rock brigade, a group that was founded to protect citizens from crime, 3 years later in 1979 this group became the guardian angels and ever since they’ve stopped thousands of crimes including assault, robbery, harrasment, and even rape. One such example was when he called mob boss John Gotti Jr. the biggest Drug dealer in America and as a result he was abducted and shot 5 times by his goons in 1992. Furthermore Curtis Sliwa cares deeply about the homeless people, he’s had more experience talking to them and understanding them than anyone else running for mayor and knows what it takes to help drastically lower New York’s highest homeless percentage since the 1930’s. Curtis Sliwa loves the city he grew up in and hates to see it in the spot that it’s in today, filled with crime, homelessness, inequality, poverty, and he hates to see the hardworking people of the city treated poorly by the government that should be caring for them and that’s why he’s running as the republican candidate for mayor this upcoming election.

My parents worked hard to save enough money to send me to college, so I made sure to work hard to earn a degree in accounting. I graduated from Albany University as a public accountant and I opened my own successful accounting firm. This allowed me to experience what it was like to run a business. If I am elected, I will make sure to change District 20 for the better. I will make sure small businesses are able to get back on their feet, create a safer environment for all, and provide quality education for all students. I care about this community and I want to see it thrive again. So remember, on Election Day, don’t be shy, vote for Pai!
