The Town of George’s Brook-Milton is inviting applications for a Part-time Casual call-in Waste Collector/Driver.

This is a relief position to cover existing staff and/or help at busy times.

Duties:

●       Conducting routine checks on vehicle and equipment at the start and end of shifts

●       Driving pick-up and trailer combinations

●       Carrying out multi-pickup curbside collection of residential waste, recyclables and bulk garbage throughout the Town

●       Transporting waste and recyclables to, and tipping/unloading them at, waste transfer stations etc.

●       Observing safe operating practices and following waste management procedures

●       Keeping records

●       Other related duties (e.g., collecting, delivering, loading and unloading supplies and materials; non-Highway snow clearing; liaising with public and contractors; delivering and collecting vehicles and equipment to and from maintenance and repairs).

The Waste Collector/Driver will have assistance from one or more workers but may have to trailer and tip/unload trailers - but not collect waste - unassisted (e.g., during the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions).

Essential: Excellent driving skills and clean driver record; a safety-conscious approach; and the ability to lift items of up to 44lb/20kg weight.

Rate of pay: $16.00 per hour.
