Library             Policies

"Reading should not be presented to a child as a chore or a duty.  It should   be offered to them as a precious gift."

Check Out our Policies:

Kindergarten  and first grade students will be able to check out one book a week.  Their book will be due the following week.  For instance, if your child checks out a book on Tuesday, the book will be due on the Tuesday of the next week.

Second through fifth grade students will be able to check out two library books a week.  Their books will be due the following week.  For example, if your child checks out books on Friday, the books will be due on the Friday of the next week.  If they are working on a class project and need extra books, they will be able to check out additional books.

All books can be renewed  three times.  You just need to ask!  Also, if no one is waiting for the book you are reading, additional time past that can be given.

Overdue Materials

After students have been reminded to check their backpacks, lockers, desks, and classrooms, if a book still cannot be found and a month has passed, an overdue notice will be sent home in the student's take home folder.  If we do not hear from you, after the second month, a phone call will be placed to your home inquiring about the materials.  After three months, a letter will be mailed home from the school, and then the principal will call home.  Students will be unable to check out new materials until their books have been returned or renewed.   Please help your child find their materials.  Thank you for your assistance.

Damaged Materials

Please send back damaged materials!  Many times they can be repaired.  If material has been damaged and cannot be repaired, a bill will be sent home for the cost to replace it.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Lost Materials

If library materials are lost, a bill will be sent home for the cost to replace it. If the materials are found and returned, you will receive a refund check from the Board of Education.  Thank you for your help.
