Confidentiality is one if the responsibilities to all customers and clients as outlined in the Consumer Notice. In order to maintain integrity with our clients and to uphold our responsibilities as real estate agents, it is critical to keep property bidding information and interest levels confidential between other members of the sales team. There is no thought or assumption that anyone would do something dishonest, or we would not have brought that person on board. Instead, it is critical that we keep address and interest level in specific homes private so that there is never a question that our confidentiality standards were upheld.
The housing market is very competitive and our job is to get Buyers the home and to get the Seller’s home sold with the best result. This kind of information could aid that cause AND violate our duties within the Consumer Notice at the same time.
Knowing all of this, it is critical that specific property interest, information about offers being placed on listings, and all transaction specific information be kept confidential. Only the Seller may choose disseminate information about offers per the Listing Contract. This is what the law says and is is RE/MAX Main Line and Tom Toole Sales Group policy to follow all real estate law and guidelines from the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission and PAR to the letter, with no exceptions.
