About Us

Tom volunteers on the National Mall at the Lockkeeper's House, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial, and the U.S. Park Police Horse Stables and Education Center.  He also supports special events such as the White House Garden Tours and the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Tom designed the walking and biking tours of LocktoberfestDC. He is also the webmaster for LocktoberfestDC.org.

Hava has been volunteering at the Lockkeeper's House since 2023, and she loves sharing the hidden corner of D.C. history represented by our tiny building! She's excited to nerd out over even more canal and city history at Walking Tour #1.

Brad is Hava's husband and de facto enthusiastic supporter of all things canal-related.  He's excited to help out with LocktoberfestDC this year.

Ellen volunteers at the Lockkeeper's House. We get visitors from nearby and around the globe who want to know "What is this?" It's fun to see their faces when they learn it used to be surrounded by water.

Jee, with a keen interest in learning about D.C. history, volunteers with the National Park Service at the Washington Monument and the Lockkeeper’s House.

Lisa has been a dedicated volunteer with the National Park Service since February 2025 splitting her time between the Lockkeeper's House and the U.S. Park Police Horse Stables and Education Center.

She is a new volunteer for LocktoberfestDC 2025.

Barbara has been a volunteer for the National Park Service since 2011. She has staffed the NPS kiosk at the Smithsonian Metro station,  the Cherry Blossom Festival, special events and signed up for the Lockkeeper's House when it opened in 2018.

Chris volunteers with the National Park Service and the Trust for the National Mall at the Lockkeeper’s House. He also volunteers with the Trails and Rails program aboard Amtrak Northeast Regional trains between Washington DC and New York City.

Stacey is a new volunteer for LocktoberfestDC 2025. She is also starting as a new National Park Service volunteer with the Trails and Rails program aboard the DC to NYC Amtrak Northeast Regional routes.

Nathan has been a volunteer with the National Park Service at the Lockkeeper's House since 2022. He thinks the video at the house is one of the best things to see on the National Mall.

Nathan supported the Lockkeeper's House for LocktoberfestDC 2024.

Trisha has been a volunteer for the National Park Service for 10 years.  During that time she has volunteered at many of the National Mall's memorials and monuments. Currently, she volunteers at the Lockkeeper's House and The White House and President's Park.

Trisha was the Tour Leader for Walking Tour #2 for LocktoberfestDC 2024.

Tom was the Tour Leader for Biking Tour #2 for LocktoberfestDC 2023-2024.  

For 2025, he created our new tour "Biking Tour #3 - Alexandria Joins The (Canal) Party."

Jeremy is the Vice President of Programs for the Trust for the National Mall.

He is a new LocktoberfestDC volunteer for 2025.

Seth regularly volunteers with Events DC programs such as WalkingTown DC and Passport DC. He enjoys cycling, kayaking, and exploring the rich history of Washington D.C. 

Seth was a participant in Biking Tour #2 in the first LocktoberfestDC in 2023.  In 2024 he volunteered as a Sweeper for Biking Tour #2.

Lockkeeper's House

Scott has been a volunteer with the National Park Service for nearly 10 years and has been telling stories at the Lockkeeper's House since it reopened to the public in 2018. When he's not "on the waterways" he works at the Library of Congress.
