Founder

Tom volunteers on the National Mall at the Lockkeeper's House, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial, and the U.S. Park Police Horse Stables and Education Center. He is also the webmaster for LocktoberfestDC.org.

Hava Kantrowitz

I've been volunteering at the Lockkeeper's House since 2023, and I love sharing the hidden corner of DC history represented by our tiny building! I'm excited to nerd out over even more canal and city history at the 3 mile walk this Saturday. Can't wait to see you there!

Ellen Ternes

I volunteer at the Lockkeeper's House. We get visitors from nearby and around the globe who want to know "What is this?" It's fun to see their faces when they learn it used to be surrounded by water

Chia Chang

Chia-Chia is a volunteer on the National Mall through the Volunteers-In-Parks program.  She is new to the Lockkeeper's House and can't wait to share it with everyone.

Scott Szymendara

Scott has been a volunteer with the National Park Service for nearly 10 years and has been telling stories at the Lockkeeper's House since it reopened to the public in 2018. When he's not "on the waterways" he works at the Library of Congress.

Nathan Mathai

Nathan has been a volunteer with the National Park Service at Lockkeepers House since 2022. He thinks the video at the house is one of the best things to see on the National Mall.
