How does the challenge work?
ATTENTION: ANYONE WHO IS GETTING PREPARED FOR THE JANUARY-FEBRUARY COUCH TO 5K CHALLENGE!!!!!
The Couch to 5K Challenge is approximately 9 weeks long and will begin on Thursday, January 1, 2026 and will end on Friday, February 27, 2026.(The day before the Fun Run)
Each week, complete the form to indicate how many days you followed your training plan.
You can earn additional points for:
Entering an initial 5K/ 3.1 mile time (within the first three weeks)
Posting on social media and tagging @TISDMOVES (on Facebook or Twitter)
Registering for our TISD Superintendent's 5K (3.1 mile), 1-mile, or Sleep-in-Pass on February 28, 2026.
Entering your final 5K/ 3.1 mile time (by Tuesday, March 2, 2026).
In order for an individual to be eligible to win the challenge, you must be registered in this year's Superintendent's Fun Run on February 28, 2026 for the 5K, 1-mile, or Sleep-in-Pass.
Beyond vitamin C, citrus is a rich source of other vitamins, minerals and dietary fibers. Great options include:
Oranges

1 medium grapefruit, peeled
1 medium orange
½ medium lemon
1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger root, peeled
1 (1-inch) piece fresh turmeric root, peeled
½ clove garlic
Pinch freshly ground black pepper
In a blender, combine (whole) grapefruit, juice from the orange and lemon, ginger, turmeric, garlic and pepper. Blend until smooth (adjusting ingredients to taste, if necessary).
Place a small sieve or strainer over a mason jar or glass cup. .
Pour liquid into strainer and serve immediately or store in refrigerator for up to 4 days
