Fursey led an interactive training on improving Table Topics in Toastmasters, covering storytelling, spontaneous speaking, and creative thinking through exercises like debates, lightning rounds, and quick-response prompts. The CARE method (Connect, Address, Relate, Engage) was introduced to help structure responses, along with strategies for prioritizing guests, keeping energy high, and celebrating speakers’ contributions.
The session linked Table Topics skills to real-world applications such as job interviews, emphasizing concise, engaging storytelling and preparation of key talking points. Participants practiced quick thinking, combining ideas, and giving immediate evaluations. Future sessions include a General Evaluation workshop in October and a Speech workshop in December aligned with club contests, along with continued “Spice It Up” training throughout the year.
