At Trinity, we utilize Core Knowledge Curriculum along with UFLI phonics. This curriculum is comprehensive and rigorous. It is content rich and gives students an amazing opportunity to learn about history, science, and the world around them. Many of our units are cross-curricular- we read nonfiction texts in Social Studies or Science that relate to our fiction texts in Reading. This allows students to become fully immersed in their learning! For more information on the research behind Core Knowledge: The Case for Content-Rich Curriculum. For a more comprehensive list of the subjects we will cover in 2nd grade please visit the Core Knowledge Website: The Core Knowledge Sequence.
For math we use Eureka Math² (Squared). It is an enhanced version of the Eureka Math curriculum, designed to build upon its strengths while improving accessibility, flexibility, and engagement for both students and teachers. It incorporates features like open-ended lessons, digital interactives, and consistent instructional models to foster a deeper understanding of math concepts.
For Bible study we use the Enduring Faith curriculum. The Enduring Faith Religion Curriculum is a comprehensive Bible-based curriculum designed for Lutheran and Christian schools, aiming to equip children and families with enduring faith. It focuses on connecting students, teachers, and families through a unified, Christ-centered approach to learning and applying the Bible.
