Turning in Homework:
Homework should be on time, complete, and with the student’s name for credit.
Students will be directed to turn in their homework each morning into the homework bin.
Incomplete homework or missing names will not receive credit.
Late Homework:
Late homework will not receive full credit. So, it's important for students to turn in assignments on time.
Absent:
If a student is absent, they are not required to complete homework while they’re out.
They will have the same number of days they were absent to complete and turn in their work. For example, if absent for two days, they have two days to finish the work and can turn it in on the third day.
Struggling:
If a student is struggling with homework and it’s taking more than 30 minutes, please notify me.
Parents can communicate by writing a note in the planner, sending a message through ClassDojo, or emailing me.
If the homework takes too long, parents should stop the child and let the teacher know.
Tips for Parents:
Monitor time: If homework is taking longer than expected, please contact me.
Provide rest: If your child is sick, prioritize rest over homework. Homework will not be assigned until the student returns.
Ensure completion: Help the student remember to put their name on the homework and double-check that it’s finished.
Organization: Once the assignment is completed, please have your child place it in their Homework Folder, and then into their backpack. At this age, it's important to help students build strong organizational habits that will support their long term success.
Atmosphere: Find a spot that’s away from distractions like the TV, loud noises, or other people.
