In our classroom, we work as a team and 'Ohana to create a respectful and focused learning environment. Students are expected to follow these classroom rules, which reflect the Fruit of the Spirit:
Treat everyone with kindness, patience, and respect
Use words that build up, not tear down
Listen and follow directions
Be honest and take responsibility
Work hard and do your best
Take care of our classroom, supplies and school
We strive to make good choices, but if a student is not following a classroom rule, we use this as an opportunity to learn and grow. Here is the progression of consequences a student may experience if a rule is broken:
Verbal Reminder- a reminder to help the student make a better choice.
Second Warning- the student may move to a quiet area to think about their choices.
Reflection Time- the student will complete a short reflection form.
Contact Parent- I will communicate with you if the behavior continues or if it is serious.
Send to Office- For repeated or serious behavior, the students may be referred to the principal for further support.
