What Are We Doing?

Here's a look at what this year looks like in Science:

• Unit 1: Motion and Forces (1st quarter)

→ Includes the laws of motion, simple machines, and forces

• Unit 2: Energy & Matter (2nd quarter)

→ Includes forms of energy, energy transfers, foundations of chemistry, and states of matter

• Unit 3: Properties of Matter (end of second quarter, beginning of third)

→ Includes understanding atoms, the periodic table, and chemical bonds

→ We will begin discussing the Science Fair at the end of the second quarter.

• Unit 4: Interactions of Matter (3rd quarter)

→ Includes chemical equations and reactions, acid/base solutions, and carbon chemistry)

→ Science Fair will also be taking place during the third quarter.

• Unit 5: Waves, Electricity, & Magnetism (4th quarter)

→ Includes electromagnetic waves, sound, light, electricity, and magnetism

We will be focusing on chemical reactions and equations in the third quarter.
