LANGUAGE ARTS/READING-Last year we adopted a new language arts curriculum. It is called Benchmark Advance. We will be working together to bring it to life for our students.
SCIENCE- The school uses Mystery Science in all grades. It is hands-on and includes a science experiment each week. The students collaborate and work together on each experiment. We LOVE it!!
BIBLE- Our Bible curriculum is called Purposeful Design. Each week we will be learning about Jesus and growing in our relationships with him. We will work in a workbook as we learn about the Bible, memorize scripture, and how much God loves each of us during the year.
SOCIAL STUDIES- Social Studies is the heart and soul of fourth grade. Our curriculum is Scott's Foresman. We learn ALL about California's history and government this year. We have so much fun with this subject!!
Birthdays-
Birthdays will be celebrated at the end of the day. Please let me know ahead of time if you would like to bring a treat to share with the class so I allow time in our day to celebrate.
Classroom Behavior-
It is my hope that ALL students are:
Gentle, kind & respectful
Problem solvers
Responsible citizens (of the class, school, city, and world)
This will be the information hub for all things in our class this year. It will be updated with homework, announcements, special events, and more! Check it out when you have time! I will occasionally e-mail you a direct link to make sure you are up to date.

20 Minutes of reading
As part of your reading grade, you will have a set AR (Accelerated Reading) goal. In order to complete it, you will need to read for about 20 minutes every day. There will be some time allotted to AR during class time. However, the majority of the AR goal should be met at home. AR quizzes can be taken at school and at home.
NO Math over the weekend
SPELLING tests will be given every Friday. We will be practicing spelling every day during class time and students will complete a spelling choice activity each night to turn in each morning. I will give them a spelling choice board with activities to choose from.
NO Spelling over the weekend
BIBLE- Each week we will be working to memorize a Bible verse. We will practice in class. However, students should practice at home as needed to be prepared for their weekly test on Friday.
