MEP Exhibition

A Science Experiment

This year, the focus of the MEP Exhibition is on Science. It is a collaboration of grade levels working together to experiment on how to grow crops that are not native to Thailand. Each grade level will focus on the following:
M4 - Research and crop selection based on sustainability, benefits, and profit. They will work with M5 students to grow the crop.
M5 - Research and develop various fertilizers to induce plant growth .
M6 - Study the effects of electricity on the growth of plants to see if it can be applied to the experiment. They were also tasked in building a greenhouse and irrigation system.

Art and Calculus

Students made a model of their favorite character for their calculus class. Students determined equations of best fit (polynomial regression) and calculated the volume using solids of revolution and solids of known cross section. One of their favorite characters was Elsa.

Building Ciruits in Structures

Students are tasked to build simple circuits in miniature famous structures from around the world. Students draw circuit diagrams and explain their designs.

Rollercoaster

A collaborative project between Math and Computers. A group of M6 students took on the challenge of designing, calculating and simulating their version of the ultimate rollercoaster.

Water Pump

Students were introduced to the engineering design process by creating a water pump device. From manual pumps, applying syphon to build pressure, to creating a pump spray for car wash, students research and modified existing designs to cater their various objectives.

Water Rocket

Students were introduced to the engineering design process and what better way than to create their own water rocket! While building a water rocket project is standard, this gave many students first-time experience in building a device from scratch, identifying problems and providing solutions, improving their designs to reach the requirements, and of course overcoming frustrations!

Digital Story Telling

Students were asked to take the topics from the Reading Explorer 3 book and create a video presentation about the topic. They were asked to make it an original idea of their own and borrow the themes of the topic to make the video presentation:
