Year 9

The Year 9 Music Programme provides students with an introduction to the core principles of music. Students will develop an understanding of foundational music theory and historical contexts, enabling them to analyse and appreciate a variety of musical genres and the underlying mechanics of music. The programme also introduces elements of songwriting and composition through creative practices and the use of digital software. In addition, students will have the opportunity to explore a range of instruments, supported by structured learning aimed at selecting and refining skills on a chosen instrument. This comprehensive approach ensures a strong basis for further musical study and practical development.
