Half othe day was spent immersing in the art of origami. This intricate craft, originating in Japan, transforms simple paper into stunning creations, through learning the delicate techniques of folding.
The day finished with a visit to Shibuya, one of Tokyo's bustling districts. Famous for the iconic Shibuya Crossing, the area buzzes with energy, featuring vibrant shops, trendy cafes, and lively entertainment. It's the perfect place to experience modern Tokyo’s dynamic culture while savoring local cuisine.
Wednesday: Day 4- Today started with our community service activity, a beach clean-up, where the students worked alongside a local volunteer group to pick up litter and help protect the beautiful coastline. Armed with gloves, rakes, tongs, and trash bags, we combed the sandy shores, sharing laughter and a sense of purpose as we worked together to help restore the natural beauty of the beach. After a rewarding day of service, we headed to a nearby stadium, a historic venue where Babe Ruth once showcased his legendary talent. As the sun set, we settled into our seats, excitement buzzing in the air, and watched the Japanese baseball game unfold. The atmosphere was electric, filled with enthusiastic fans cheering for their teams, making it the perfect end to a fulfilling day of giving back to the community.
The students had the opportunity to do some last-minute souvenir shopping at a nearby mall before catching the bus to the airport at noon. The students have collected a great many memories from our time in Japan, and I hope through the pictures and short briefing you have also had a little glimpse of what your daughters and sons have experienced in Japan.
