Welcome

About Me

Hello Families and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. My name is Sarah Eckstein and I am the School Counselor at Springfield Public School for grades 7-12. I am so excited to be starting my 2nd year as the School Counselor here.

A little about me: This year will mark my 13th year as a School Counselor. I attended MSU-Mankato where I received my BS in Psychology and continued my education at UW-Stout to earn my Masters in K-12 School Counseling. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jim (6th-grade teacher) and two boys, Blake (5) and Jackson (3)!

I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone and appreciate the warm welcome I have received from students, staff, and parents. It feels so wonderful to be a part of such a supportive school and community!

What is School Counseling?

School Counselors provide a supportive counseling program that meets the personal/social, academic, and career preparation/college planning needs of all students. Services include classroom guidance, groups, and individual counseling, career and college planning, and student and family advocacy. My goal at Springfield Public School is to promote positive relationships with all students to reach personal and academic goals, and life-long learning, and to guide them to become productive members of society. This foundation will be supported by consultation with educators, administrators, parents, and community advocates.
