Homework will always be set and recorded via Google Classroom; it will sometimes also be submitted and assessed via Google Classroom.
All Y7 boys will be shown how to use this early in September by their Form Tutors.
All Chromebooks must be treated with great care at all times.
Chromebooks must be secured when they are not being used or carried. Students should put them in their locker or at least in their bag; they should not be left in the playground.
Chromebooks should be easily identifiable as belonging to their owner (stickers are recommended).
Students should only use their own Chromebook or devices borrowed from the IT Department.
No attempts should be made to circumnavigate GoGuardian or Google Admin controls and filtering.
Chromebooks must be brought to school fully charged every day.
In lessons, Chromebooks may only be opened with the teacher’s explicit permission.
Outside lessons, Chromebooks may not be used on the school site except in the LRC while seated at a desk (at the discretion of the LRC Manager) or in the designated tables in the Dining Hall before school.
Students should not charge or ask to charge their Chromebook at school except using a portable charger (not supplied).
If a Chromebook is lost, stolen or damaged, this should be reported to IT immediately.
Chromebooks should only be used in line with Tiffin’s Network Contract, e-safety policy and other relevant policies (see below).
Chromebooks should not be used for more than an hour continuously without a break.
Students should adopt the correct posture when using a Chromebook (i.e. don’t slouch).
Students should monitor their emails and homework daily but not during lessons unless directed by a teacher.
