The South Dakota Discovery Center has partnered with the Akta Lakota Museum and Todd County Schools to create science kits that are culturally sustaining by integrating the Oceti Sakowin Essential Understandings with the SD Science Standards. The kits are place-based, rooted in inquiry and include STEM career exploration activities as well. Kits are being developed for grades K-8 with a possible high school expansion.
