Dear Parent/Carer
NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe. programme
I am pleased to inform you that we are participating in the NSPCC’s Speak out. Stay safe. Programme this term. Speak out. Stay safe. is a programme for children aged 5-11 which aims to help children understand abuse in all its forms and to recognise the signs of abuse. Children are taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a safe adult or Childline.
This child friendly programme is aligned with the curriculum and consists of age appropriate virtual assemblies and supporting classroom based activities which we have reviewed.
Parents and carers are asked to let school know if their child may have experienced anything (in the past or happening now) which may mean they need extra support before, during or after taking part in this programme.
If you would like to know more about the Speak out. Stay safe. programme visit www.nspcc.org.uk/speakout.

Let's make this first dash a huge success! See you there!
Firstly, we took eight Y3/4 children to take part in an exciting Hockey Festival at Rotherham Hockey Club. Children took part in a carousel of fun activities that focussed on different aspects of hockey. The children loved it and showed how talented they are. A big thank you to the School Games Organisers and Rotherham Hockey Club for hosting and a big well done to the children who took part!
Last week we took eight children from Y5/6 to a Parkour Festival at NovaCity. The children took part in lots of different activities such as bars, parkour courses, breakdancing, beat the wall, somersaults and much more. It was great to see the children in a different environment, trying new skills. A massive thank you to NovaCity for hosting, the place is amazing. If anyone is interested in joining NovaCity please let me know.
On Tuesday we took eight children to take part in the Y5/6 Girls Rotherham Hockey Finals at Rotherham Hockey Club. As always the competition was organised to perfection by the school games organisers and the girls made us proud! There were 8 teams in total for the morning tournament, meaning we played 7 matches in total. The girls managed to win 6 and draw 1 to finish runners up. We now have an anxious wait to see if we qualify for the South Yorkshire Finals. All eight girls were nothing short of amazing and Tuesday proved how hard they've been working at hockey during PE. The standard of hockey they played was a joy to watch. Well done girls!
Kind Regards
Jon Bedford
