We are always looking for new mentors and projects for students to become a part of for their senior internship! The students are always eager to get started on projects in a variety of fields and yours just might be the one that sparks a passion in them that leads to a career pursing STEM. Become a part of the team preparing tomorrow's future leaders today!
Our vision is to provide these bright and motivated students with experience in a real lab or design facility. This is a truly unique experience and one which greatly helps to increase student excitement and enthusiasm in all STEM fields. The assistance the mentors provide for this program is invaluable.
Students need to work in a mentor directed setting for a minimum of 40 hours on a research project, design project, or case study. The research or design does not need to be self-contained like a science fair project. It can be participation in something you may have ongoing where students help collect and analyze data, participate in a design phase or, especially for medical projects, make observations and complete a case study.
The students are encouraged to log their 40 hours or more over the summer before their senior year. The students will then complete an additional 25 hours next fall preparing a technical paper, poster and presentation of their work. There is then a semi-formal presentation night mentors are invited to so they can view their mentee's work.
