LENT IN A BAG
Lent is a season for us to make a special focus on our ever-growing and loving relationship with God.
Christ’s life, ministry, and death are remembered during this season.
It is also a time to think about how God is with us all the time.
We can do this through prayer, reading the Bible, helping others, or something else.
Anything that connects you to God is a wonderful thing. Walking the dog, gardening, seeing new shoots of of spring, or listening to birdsong are all ways to think of and talk to God.
This bag contains items to be used as symbols to help our prayer life during Lent.
Please use these as a family and bring the bag back to share what you did with your class, and pass on ‘The Lenten Pilgrimage of hope’ to others.
You can write a prayer/reflection in the book in response. You can draw and even add photos of your prayer time together
Lenten Fundraising and Challenge 2025
This Lent we will be collecting money for the HCPT
As this year is a special jubilee year, ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ our lent challenges will be based on our own personal journeys.
We are looking at how our Catholic Social Teaching values bring hope to ourselves and others.
We would like you to share a challenge with us this lent.
You could….
· Raise money by doing lots of jobs to help your family, friends and community
· Fulfil a personal goal like train for a sponsored walk or run
· Spend time in nature to develop your relationship with God
· Go on your own pilgrimage to visit a religious place (Aylesford Priory, St George’s Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral)
Please create a poster/ write up about your personal journey (don’t forget to include pictures and photos!)
Entries will be displayed around the school and chocolaty treats given for the winners!
If you would like to raise money whilst doing your challenge (sponsor ship form attached) or donate to the HCPT, please use our ‘just giving page’ https://www.justgiving.com/page/thomas-becket-2
