Wellbeing

Every Monday, all students will participate in our new Wellbeing course.

  • For grade 5 students, this class will initially focus on the transition from elementary school to middle school.

  • For students in grades 6-8, this class will utilize Scholastic’s Choices magazine to focus on health, life skills and social-emotional learning.

Each student will be part of an advisory and house, guided by their advisory teacher and supported by a grade level leader. Teachers will be available in small group settings as well as individual check-ins to address student wellbeing, as needed.

Counseling

Our Middle School counselor will be available to students by teacher recommendation, parent request, or through student contact. Appointments will be available for students for in-person, Zoom, or telephone meetings in order to maximize the health and safety of all.

New Students

New students will participate in a multi-week How to be a Viking mini course to orient them to our school. In addition, our student support team will regularly check in with all new students to ensure they are acclimating. Each advisory teacher will assign a buddy to welcome each new student and be available for questions.
