SMART Snacks 

Terra Academy participates in the National School Lunch program. The USDA has a list of guidelines that snacks in the school must follow, these snacks are called ‘smart snacks’.

All snacks provided for the entire class should comply with the SMART snack standards. A student does not need to comply with SMART snacks when they bring a snack for themself. 

There are three allotted days per year where classroom snacks do not need to be SMART snack compliant. 

• Halloween 

• Valentine’s Day 

• The day before Christmas break
