Good morning, Kindergarten!
Today is Thursday. What is something you are grateful for today? I am grateful for each of you! I can't wait to see you again! Today makes 129 days of Kindergarten. Get your singing voice ready.... perform the months of the year song and the days of the week song! Don't forget to hop like a frog when you hear THURSDAY!
Love,
Mrs. Bradley
Math Warm-Up: Count backwards from 30! Walk backwards while you do it if you can.
Today's Lesson: We are going to continue practicing using a number line to count back.
Practice: Complete the worksheet to the left. If you don't have a printer, create your own number line and solve the problems on a whiteboard or piece of paper.
Challenge (not required): Fruit Splat Number Line Addition
ABC Warm-Up: Using your ABC Chart, play "What's One Above?" If you forgot how to play, check out this video.
Phonemic Awareness: From now on, Mrs. Bradley will share separate audio files for the phonemic and the phonics portions. The first audio file is included to the left. You are going to identify whether or not words rhyme.
Phonics: The second audio file included to the left is today's phonics assignment. It is an assessment on the SH digraph. You will want to number a paper 1-6 and write your name at the top. Text or email it to Mrs. Bradley when you're finished.
Listening Objectives: If you liked the story, write a letter explaining why you liked it. If you didn't like the story, write a letter explaining why you didn't!
You can choose a story online or ask someone to read to you. Here are some websites with online stories:
See what others are up to! Click on our class Padlet and add a picture of you in your favorite spot (at home or where ever you are!)
Read-to-Self: Read books that are "just right" for you... not too hard and not too easy. You may use the books Mrs. Bradley sent home with you, other books at your house, or Kids A-Z (Raz Kids) books by logging in on the iPad or computer. Read for at least 15 minutes.
Handwriting: Strong fine-motor skills are important for developing good handwriting! Squeeze play-dough between your fingers. Give your hands a work out while you play!
How do you eat an Oreo? Did you know that some people eat them different ways? Do you dunk it first? Do you eat the chocolate wafers first? Do you eat the creme filling? Do you scrape off the filling or lick it? Do you not like Oreos at all? Today, I'd like to you reflect on the best way to eat an Oreo (or a similar yummy snack if you don't like Oreos). Print out the linked worksheet if you have a printer, or just use your writing journal if you don't. Make sure to use your detailed writing skills! Bonus if you actually get to eat an Oreo!
Using building blocks from your house, choose something off this STEM choice board. Share a picture on our class Padlet when you're done!
You can also practice coding on Kodable.com or the Kodable app!
Cosmic Kids Yoga has a mindfulness series on YouTube. Check out one of their videos here.
Add to your weather chart each day.
