Good morning, Kindergarten!
I am so impressed with you. It is hard work learning from home. I am also working really hard to try and make learning fun for you! If you have any ideas of fun activities you'd like our class to try during Zoom, or fun activities to suggest to the class, please let me know! I miss you very much and I am so excited to hug you or give you a high five when you are first graders (or hopefully before then!)
Our Zoom class meeting will include Show and Tell. Try and find something unique to share! Hope to see you there!
Today makes 139 days of Kindergarten!
Love,
Mrs. Bradley
Estimate: 20 minutes
Math Warm-Up: Try to skip-count by 2s to 20 or higher!
Practice: Today you are going to continue practicing how to tell time to the hour. Log into IXL and practice Section P - "Time" for at least 15 minutes. Mrs. Bradley will be able to track your progress.
This link should automatically connect you to our classroom. Now, navigate to your name. Click to sign in. Your password is "thesummit." Scroll down to see "Decks Assigned." Click on the sight word level (or spelling word level) you believe you last mastered. An adult will need to help you complete the assessment by clicking whether you read (or spelled) the word correctly or incorrectly. Feel free to complete as many levels as you can. When you miss 2 or more words on a single level, you need to practice that level for a few days before moving on. Mrs. Bradley will be able to see your progress.
See what others are up to! Click on our class Padlet and add a picture of you or comment on your friends' pictures!
Read-to-Self: Read books that are "just right" for you... not too hard and not too easy. You may use the books Mrs. Bradley sent home with you, other books at your house, or Kids A-Z (Raz Kids) books by logging in on the iPad or computer. Read for at least 15 minutes.
Estimate: At least 15 minutes
Skills: Log into IXL to practice Language Arts skills. Work on Section B - Lowercase and uppercase letters for at least 15 minutes. Move on to the next section if you finish early! Mrs. Bradley will be able to see your progress.
Estimate: At least 15 minutes
Happy Friday! Write about anything today! You can continue typing in your Google Doc, or use paper. Be sure to use finger spaces, best Summit handwriting, lowercase letters, and end punctuation.
Estimate: 15 minutes
Today, I would like you to watch this video first about a young boy who would like to be a farmer someday. Why do you think I chose this video to share with you today? What does it have to do with what we're learning about food?
Next, I would like you to take a "virtual field trip" to visit this animal farm! Try and imagine what it would look, smell, and feel like to actually be at the farm!
Add to your weather chart each day.
Scavenger hunt time! Explore the National Geographic Kids’ Website with a grownup to help you find the answers to the following questions to expand our study on Ecuador:
What is the capital of Ecuador? (Quito)
Ecuador is next to what ocean? (Pacific Ocean)
What animals call Chile their home? (Penguins, blue-footed booby, tortoises, iguanas, plus many others!)
What is the national sport? (Soccer)
No music today. See you Monday!
