Ohio Speaks(tm) is the OSDA flagship competition for students who do not have an established coach or speech and debate program at their high school. Students in grades 9-12 are invited to submit video recordings of original spoken word (prose or poetry) performances. The scripts and videos will be evaluated by a panel of judges. Finalists in this FREE contest will be invited to perform live or on video at the OSDA State Championships in March 2026, and winners and their schools will receive awards, recognition, and support towards starting their own full Speech and Debate program.
Congratulations to the Finalists in the Ohio Speaks Spoken Word Competition!
