The new syllabus is laid out as what they call a roadmap. The level of organisation runs along the top from small to big (molecules, cells, organiss and ecosystems). The themes run down the side (Unity and diversity, Form and function, Interaction and interdependence, Continuity and change).
Within each of the 16 boxes, there are the topics that are appropriate for the level of organisation along with the theme. For example A2.3 Viruses fits under 'Cells' (as they infect cells) and under Unity and diversity (as there is much that viruses have in common, but there are many different kinds of virus too).
As a student, you ought to be aware of which topic we are working on, and where it fits in the roadmap.
