A position paper is a formal document that outlines your assigned country's views, past actions, and proposed solutions regarding the committee's agenda topics. It shows the conference staff that you understand your country's foreign policy while also acting as a guide for your strategy during the actual debate. All delegates (or double delegations) will be required to submit a position paper.
Header - List committee name, topic, country, and school
Topic Background - Explain the history, current status, and past international action or UN resolutions related to the issue.
Country Policy - Describes how the issue affects your nation, past domestic actions your government took, and official stances from your leaders
Proposed Solutions - Outline specific and realistic actions your country will argue for in the final resolution

A crisis position paper focuses on an individual character rather than an entire country's foreign policy. Your crisis position paper serves as a strategic blueprint that maps out both your public policy and secret ambitions.
Standard Format
Header - List committee name, topic, character/role, and school
Character Analysis + Portfolio - Introduce who you are and give a brief summary of your character's background, ideology, and current status in the committee. Detail the "powers" of your character (resources, legal authority, personnel, etc.). This tells the crisis backrooms what assets you plan to leverage.
Front Room Goals (Public Agenda) - "Front Room" refers to everything that happens during formal debate. Include what your character claims to want to achieve, who they intend to ally with publicly, and what kind of directives they would like to pass.
Backroom Goals (Private Strategy) - "Backroom" refers to your private crisis notes to the Crisis staff. What are your true and/or hidden motives? Outline how you plan to use your portfolio powers secretly. Be creative!
