Brainspotting (BSP)
"Where you look affects how you feel."
Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that helps you process and resolve emotional and physical trauma. If you’re struggling with unresolved trauma, anxiety, depression, or other emotional challenges, and you’re ready to explore and release them, Brainspotting can help.
In Brainspotting, you are seen as the expert on yourself, while the therapist is in a supportive role. The goal of BSP is to access your own self-healing capabilities and help process stored trauma and discomforting emotions.
What is Brainspotting (BSP)?
“Where we look affects how we feel”
Brainspotting is a therapeutic technique that helps you process and resolve emotional and physical trauma. In Brainspotting, you are seen as the expert on yourself, while the therapist is in a supportive role.
The goal of BSP is to access your own self-healing capabilities and help process stored trauma and discomforting emotions.
With focus and precision we can find through the eye positions, Brainspots, where you are holding the trauma, the anxiety, the depression, the relational problems allowing the brain to process the problems, from the inside-out, from the bottom up.
Who does Brainspotting work with?
Brainspotting can be helpful in any situation where thinking can get in the way of performance, such as creativity or sports performance. It’s great for the overthinkers, and those with high anxiety, because it bypasses the “thinking” cortex of your brain. Brainspotting allows for nonverbal processing, since you can talk as much or as little as you want. Brainspotting is also great for those who work in a field where they can’t talk about their job due to security or confidentiality concerns.
What are the benefits of BSP?
Brainspotting allows you to identify and address subconscious beliefs, values, and unhelpful thought patterns that fuel feelings of guilt, shame, and anxiety. This method aids in decreasing anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related symptoms by promoting memory processing. My dedication to empowering clients is reflected in my experience, guiding you to enhance emotional regulation, and boost self-awareness and insight. Together, we will rebuild your confidence, stick to your boundaries, and fulfill your personal needs, ultimately being able to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life.
What is the process of BSP?
I will help you focus on a specific visual spot linked to memories or emotions that are stored in the midbrain.
The beginning of the process starts with me holding my pointer that has a tip while you work to maintain your gaze on that tip. This will stimulate your brain's memory allowing processing to happen.
This stimulation aids in your processing and releasing of stored trauma through mind and body connections.
There are also options of using bilateral music to help with access and processing.
