Senior Fall - Week 12: We're kicking things into high gear as Fellows take ownership of their postsecondary journey! This week, we'll complete a Common App Gut Check to make sure applications are clean, polished, and ready to go. Fellows will also participate in Milestone Mania, reviewing their Ovegrad progress to see what's done, what's missing, and where to focus next.

Opportunities Coming Up:
District-wide FAFSA Night (Nov. 12): All Fellows and Guardians are required to attend this virtual workshop if you DID NOT attend the Oct. 15 FAFSA Night. RSVP now at thebryc.org/financialaid.
Guardians prepare to access your 2024 tax return -securely retrieve it online through the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/filing/individuals/how-to-file
BRYC Application Party (Nov. 13): Fellows are invited to an Application Party at BRYC Airline (14141 Airline Hwy), where Fellows can drop in 2:30-7:30 pm to receive 1:1 support and pizza!
Brandeis University Virtual Visit (November 10): Join us virtually from 2:30-3:30 PM for a virtual visit with Brandeis University. You can find the virtual link in the calendar on thebryc.org/passport.
FranU Visit (November 11): 3:00 - 4:15 PM at BRYC downtown. Virtual option available for those who can't attend in person in the calendar on thebryc.org/passport.
Headshots in Program: Fellows will take their headshots during program sessions next week - come photo-ready!
ACT Vouchers: Does your Fellow want to take the December ACT? Fellows can request a BRYC voucher from their counselor.
AHEC Healthcare Opportunities: Interested in healthcare? Apply for one-day shadow experiences through AHEC Central Louisiana.
Scholarships:
The Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship is a highly competitive full-ride scholarship for high-achieving, Pell-eligible seniors. Covers unmet financial need for four years.
Deadline: November 12
The Ron Brown Scholar Program offers $40,000 scholarship for Black/African American high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and community service.
Deadline: December 1
The Dell Scholars Program recognizes students who show grit and determination in pursuing their college dreams. Recipients receive a $20,000 scholarship, and new laptop, and access to a personal success coach and peer support network.
Deadline: December 1
The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship awards up to $35,000 over four years to high-achieving students who demonstrate leadership, community service, and financial need.
Deadline: Jan. 21

Add applications in Overgrad
Log into Overgrad and update the Applications tab with the current statuses of applications your Fellows are working on.
Reminder: Prioritize quality over completion. BRYC Counselors should review your applications and essays BEFORE you submit.
Complete unfinished tasks assigned by your BRYC counselor in Overgrad
Log in to Overgrad
Click on My Tasks in the left-hand menu of their dashboard
Review all tasks assigned by their counselor
Mark them complete once they've finished
