RSVP for FAFSA Night
Fellows will bring financial aid to life through an interactive activity, showing how choices impact scholarships and FAFSA results. They'll also track FAFSA progress in Overgrad, celebrate milestones, and keep refining their applications.
Remember: prioritizing quality over completion is key! Every application, essay, and form should be reviewed by your BRYC Counselor before submitting.

FAFSA Night (Oct. 15): All Fellows and Guardians are required to attend this virtual workshop if you DID NOT attend the Oct. 8 FAFSA Night. RSVP now at thebryc.org/financialaid.
Guardians prepare to access your 2024 tax return -securely retrieve it online through the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/filing/individuals/how-to-file
Scholarships:
The Crowned to Lead HBCU Scholarship supports students planning to attend an HBCU, focusing on leadership, service, and academic achievement.
Deadline: October 20
The Chick-fil-A Scholarship awards up to $25,000 for students pursuing college or career programs.
Interested Fellows must let their counselor know
Deadline: October 28
The Home Depot Path to Scholarship awards $2,000 to students pursuing skilled trades (construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Great option if you're considering trade school.
Deadline: October 31
The Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship is a highly competitive full-ride scholarship for high-achieving, Pell-eligible seniors. Covers unmet financial need for four years.
Deadline: November 12
The Ron Brown Scholar Program offers $40,000 scholarship for Black/African American high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and community service.

Fellows and Guardians should create their studentaid.gov account (FSA ID) BEFORE FAFSA Night
If you have not submitted yet, plan to attend the District-wide FAFSA Night on Oct. 15
After successfully submitting the FAFSA, Fellows should forward their submission confirmation email to their BRYC Counselor and update their FAFSA status in Overgrad under the Financial Aid Tab
Add applications in Overgrad
Log into Overgrad and update the Applications tab with the current statuses of applications your Fellows are working on.
Reminder: Prioritize quality over completion. BRYC Counselors should review your applications and essays BEFORE you submit.
Complete unfinished tasks assigned by your BRYC counselor in Overgrad
Log in to Overgrad
Click on My Tasks in the left-hand menu of their dashboard
Review all tasks assigned by their counselor
Mark them complete once they've finished
