Scholarships: 

• The AvaCare Medical Scholarship supports students pursuing healthcare-related fields.

  • Deadline: December 15

• The Cedric Richmond Scholars Program provides financial support and leadership development for Louisiana students committed to community service and public leadership.

  • Deadline: December 31

• The FOSSI STEM Scholars Program is a $40,000 scholarship for students pursuing STEM degrees at HBCUs, plus mentorship and industry networking opportunities.

  • Deadline: January 15

• The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship awards up to $40,000 and a guaranteed paid internship to seniors planning to major in computer science, software engineering, or related STEM fields.

  • Deadline: January 15

• The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship awards up to $35,000 over four years to high-achieving students who demonstrate leadership, community service, and financial need.

⚠️ Take Note: Many institutional scholarships require college applications to be submitted by priority scholarship deadlines (e.g., Dec. 15 for LSU) and may also require early FAFSA submission.

Financial Aid

• Complete the CSS Profile if any of your Fellows' college choices require it.

  • Fellows must check their email daily after submission! Colleges will not process any verification documents.

• After successfully submitting the FAFSA and CSS Profile, Fellows should forward their submission confirmation email to their BRYC Counselor and 

• Update their FAFSA and CSS status in Overgrad under the Financial Aid Tab

Add applications in Overgrad

• Log into Overgrad and update the Applications tab with the current statuses of the applications you are working on.

• Reminder: Prioritize quality over completion. BRYC Counselors should review your applications and essays BEFORE you submit.

Complete unfinished tasks assigned by your BRYC counselor in Overgrad

• Log in to Overgrad

• Click on My Tasks in the left-hand menu of your dashboard

• Review all tasks assigned by your counselor

• Mark them complete once you've finished
