BRidge Youth Council Ambassadors: 9/8/25
The BRidge Agency is excited to welcome young leaders who are passionate about making a difference in their communities through advocacy, leadership, and collaboration.
As an Ambassador, you’ll gain leadership development, travel opportunities, a chance to impact your community, and a stipend for your service.
Eligibility: Must be 14-19, enrolled in school, live in East Baton Rouge Parish, and commit to 24 months to monthly meetings & event participation

TikTok Youth Council: 9/26/25
This is an amazing opportunity to have your voice heard by TikTok and to help influence TikTok policies and products, to better support young people on the platform.
We will work to ensure that the TikTok Youth Council is an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment where all individuals feel valued and respected.

Aspirations in Computing Award: 10/28/25
The AiC High School Award honors students for their computing-related achievements and interests, and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award recipients are chosen based on their skills and ambitions in technology and computing, which they demonstrate through their computing experience, related activities, leadership roles, resilience in overcoming access barriers, and future goals.
Cost: Free
Eligibility: 9th–12th grade women, genderqueer, or non-binary students

Congressional App Challenge: 10/30/25
The Congressional App Challenge invites students to actively engage in computer science and coding innovation. Students compete by developing an app for multiple devices, utilizing any programming language. The winning app will be featured on the Congressional App Challenge website and may also be exhibited in the U.S. Capitol.
Cost: Free
Eligibility: Middle and high school students (see more guidelines)

Disney Dreamers Academy: 10/31/25
Each spring, 100 exceptional young people arrive at the Disney Dreamers Academy with ambition, excitement and hopes for the future. Four days later, they return home with the motivation, guidance and skills to help make those dreams come true.
Duration: Four days in spring 2026
Location: Walt Disney Resort in Florida
Cost: Free
Eligibility: High school students ages 13 to 19

National Security Language Initiative for Youth
The U.S. Department of State’s National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program was launched in 2006 to promote critical language learning among American youth. Participants receive intensive language instruction, live with a host family for all or part of the program, and participate in a variety of cultural activities.
Duration: Summer 2026 (likely 6/10-7/10)

Derek E. Gordon Arts Fund: Apply ASAP
Funding to support need and merit-based projects in the arts through travel scholarships to young individuals and/or groups in the Baton Rouge community. This fund aims to help young artists advance their careers through various artistic opportunities.
Eligibility: High school or college-aged artists who are permanent, legal residents of Louisiana
Grant Awards: Range from $500 to $2,500
Application Review: Based on the artistic excellence of the applicant's work, the degree to which the proposed project will help the applicant advance their career, and the potential of the individual artist

Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth: Rolling Deadlines
Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth offers accelerated courses for advanced and high-achieving students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Courses are designed for academically talented and motivated learners. PTY strives to offer courses led by Vanderbilt faculty, graduate students, and content experts.
Eligibility: 7th-12th grade student
Requirements: Complete application form, financial aid form, $50 application fee

A-HEC - CI Healthcare: 11/21/25
CI: Healthcare is a FREE activity-filled day that offers high school students who have an interest in health careers an opportunity to explore Nursing and Allied Health careers at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge, LA or at Louisiana State University - Alexandria in Alexandria, LA.
Eligibility 10-12th grade students with at least a 2.0 GPA

A-HEC -Dash into Dentistry: 11/21/25
Dash into Dentistry is a FREE one-day interactive program that offers high school students who have an interest in dentistry and oral health the opportunity to spend a day at the campus of the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans.
Students explore the fields of dentistry and oral health by practicing techniques and participating in hands-on activities relating to dentistry, dental hygiene, dental forensics and dental lab technology, in addition to receiving LSU-School of Dentistry admissions information and interacting with current dental students.
Eligibility 10-12th grade students with at least a 2.0 GPA

A-HEC - A Day with the Doctors: 11/21/25
A FREE one-day interactive program that offers high school students who have an interest in becoming a physician, an opportunity to experience doctors' daily activities and life on LSU Health's Shreveport or NOLA campuses.
Students learn diagnostic skills, such as taking blood pressure, listening to heart sounds, taking a radial pulse, measuring respiratory rate and listening to breath sounds.
Participants have the opportunity to interact with physicians and med students to discover admission requirements for med school and explore the life of a medical student.
Eligibility: High school student with at least a 2.0 GPA

A-HEC of a Summer: 3/1/26
The A-HEC of a Summer Program is a FREE and exciting opportunity for high school students who are interested in pursuing a health care career. These students are given a chance to explore different career opportunities in medicine by volunteering at local hospitals. Participants learn hands-on about health issues, patient care, and health care career options, as well as information on education and training for health care professions, volunteer work and opportunities, and job readiness skills.
While serving the community, students can earn 1/2 high school AHEC elective credit and CPR certification. Students will also attend workshops and field trips.

Volunteers are invaluable to the Food Bank. Without the thousands of volunteer hours each year, the Food Bank would be unable to provide food to the many children, seniors and families facing hunger in our community.

Clean Pelican
We are working to create and maintain a clean, beautiful community where businesses and families want to stay, work and play. There are plenty of opportunities to clean up our city.

East Baton Rouge Parish Library (Virtual)
EBR Parish Library has created a virtual volunteering form where teens can recommend books/audiobooks in detail.

How it works: For every fully filled-out recommendation form, you will receive 30 minutes of volunteering time
