Costs Associated with Obtaining and Maintaining a Real Estate License in Hawaii
Pre-Licensing / Examination / Application
Complete Pre-Licensing Education & Pass the Pre-Licensing Course Exam
Complete 60 hours of pre-licensing education from a Hawaii-approved real estate school. This course covers real estate principles, law, contracts, and more.
You will receive a completion certificate after finishing the course.
After completing the pre-licensing course, you must pass the course's final exam to obtain your certificate of completion

Examination Registration and Scheduling Procedures
You must provide an unexpired Hawaii School Completion Certificate in order to take the examination
Examination Fee: $61, Retake Fee - $61
Complete and submit your licensing application
Your test center personnel will give you the instructions and application form, along with the score report and any other documentation as required per the instructions. You must file an application within two years of passing the licensing examination.
Estimated Cost: Odd numbered year - $382, Even numbered year - $282

Renewal: $268+ (every two years)
Required Continuing Education
Estimated cost: $350+ (every two years)
Real estate agents in Hawaii must complete 20 hours of approved continuing coursework for each two-year license period.
The hours must include:
6 hours of commission-designated core coursework
14 hours of elective credit hours
Hours must be completed by November 30 within their renewal year and can be taken through any approved school.

Your Membership dues are a combination of three branches within the Association.
The DCCA Real Estate Branch, as part of the Professional and Vocational Licensing Division, assists the Real Estate Commission in carrying out its responsibility for the education, licensure and discipline of real estate licensees; registration of condominium projects, condominium associations, condominium managing agents, and condominium hotel operators; and intervening in court cases involving the real estate recovery fund.
