Device Specifications


This course will focus mainly on the Digital Thinking strand, with the 9TDT (Technology - Design Thinking) option covering the Designing and Developing Digital Outcomes strand.

9DGT and 9TDT provide the groundwork for 10DGT - the two strands will be combined in 10DGT before moving to Computer Science in Senior School. After Year 9, increasingly more complex problems, structures and syntax are addressed, requiring a high level of logical thinking and effective practice to meet the needs of the end-user.

9DGT will cover:

  • File management

  • Decomposing problems

  • Writing algorithms

  • Programming using Scratch

  • Testing and debugging errors

  • Data representation in binary

  • Searching/sorting methods

  • User interfaces

DGT leads you to a variety of career pathways, such as: Computer Programmer, Website Developer, Business Analyst, Systems Manager, Systems Architect, Computer Engineer.
