Cast an object in plaster. Using the fast set plaster, check the bag for mixing ratios, make a cast of an object. This can either be casting the outside of an object, making a "relief" sculpture, or it can be that you fill an object and break away the material to leave the cast interior. Be sure to cover your object in a release material like vaseline to be sure it comes out of your plaster cast.
1. Using a mould make a clay object by gently pushing the clay into the mould. Be sure to rub a release material such as oil or vaseline into the mould so your clay comes out of the mould.
2. Make a coil pot vase and add decoupage images once fired. To do this roll out a large coil of clay. Place cling film inside a bowl to support your vase. Coil the clay inside the pot and gently blend the coils together to smooth out the interior. Do the same to the other side by flipping it over. Repeat this process and join the two halves to make a vase, be sure to make a base and a neck for your vase. Fire this in the kiln, then add clear glaze and fire again. Now ready for decoupage!
1. Take up to 200 photos of your object from all angles, draw a circle around your object or person/ head and photograph in precise consecutive intervals all the surface areas from top to bottom 360 degrees around the subject.
2. Use "meshroom" (which is freeware installed on the classroom pc) to upload all your photos in a new file. Render your images into a 3D model.
See this video to gain insight into how to use meshroom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU6PoarLEzs
Download freeware "meshroom" here : https://alicevision.org/#meshroom
Upload all your photos to meshroom and render your 3D file overnight, it takes a while!
Upload your rendered 3D file to Blender
Use blender to give your 3D sculpture its final touches before exporting for the 3D printer files.
