Check your are making a reflective process in your digital journal. At this stage your journal should be starting to look like a working document referencing media choices, artist models, your proposal, annotations on your process etc. Remember if this journal is added to every day it grows organically and reflects your thinking which is imperative for scholarship students and credits for 3.2 and 3.3.
Remember to try your best to use art vocab to express your reflections on your process, click here for this resource - click
Below is a good example of what a good page could look like, but remember there are no rules when it comes to presentation, just that I must be able to read the content please!
Daniel Eaton, L3 2018
You will note if you read the text of this students reflection he is making connections between his paint investigation and design. As he was doing both subjects it made sense to use the research and content in both areas creating a deeper engagement with his subject matter in paint and extending his work in design as well.
This week is a practical experimentation in drawing with black and white paint only. The goal is to achieve a composition that shows good technical skill in tonal modelling (chiaroscuro) using a paint brush to create form. Use your reference from your proposal study to work from and isolate strong compositional areas from two images to make these paintings. The work should not be large, around A5 in size, however if you wish to work in a larger scale you are welcome to do so! See the below exemplar of a students work in black and white studies.
