Aim:
The aim of this assignment is to craft a structured political campaign for Indian National Congress as an already existing party and promote their efforts as well as views through positioning of an issue that is menstrual health and hygiene. Aligning it with their commitment to public health, this assignment presents the core principles of political communication, as well as to apply theoretical understanding and campaign strategies.
Objectives:
1. To conduct an in-depth research using secondary data and literature review on the selected political party
2. To analyze their political trends of last five years
3. To identify voters on the basis of geographic and demographic features as well as identify and enumerate list of issues along with its positioning
4. To craft a comprehensive seven day political campaign around one selected issue
5. To construct original messages and develop campaign materials
6. To present techniques adopted to make the messages and to contact targeted voters
Approach:
To craft a compelling political campaign, our group has undertaken rigorous research and after an in –depth understanding of the need of the assignment and the background context of the selected political party, following describes our approach:
1. Offer detailed information about the party which would comprise of their history, ideology, type, target groups, symbols, etc.
2. Carry a trend analysis on their evolution to depict changes in their political views and efforts using manifesto, policies, and election outcomes of last five years.
3. Identification of voters on the basis of geography and demography: such as potential voters, potential supporters, likely voters and likely supporters.
4. Identification of issues and its positioning over five years
5. Select one significant issue from a list of issues to develop a 7 day political campaign
6. Construct messages and materials which will be uploaded in social media platform called Instagram for public engagement
7. Describe the techniques used to craft those messages and contact targeted voters.
