In this hands-on, interactive session, Ellen will provide attendees with loads of ideas to help coaches develop players of any age.
Ellen Miller is a Senior Coach Developer for the USTA and RSPA. She also works for the Houston Tennis Association as a Youth Pathway and Coach Development specialist. She is RSPA Elite certified, USTA High Performance certified, and has worked on myriad USTA youth training initiatives over the last 20 years. Recently, she chaired the USTA National Red Ball Task Force. Her red ball presentations focus on activities that get kids rallying quickly plus how to use cooperative games to build confidence and ease players into low-stress competition.

In this session, Tracey will provide attendees with ideas on how to incorporate the development of vital mental skills within any tennis program through fun games and activities.
Dr. Tracey King is a former top NZ junior, D1 tennis player and Billie Jean King Cup team member. A four-time Conference champion and NCAA Woman of the Year (Nevada), Tracey has been inducted into both the Nevada Athletic Hall of Fame and the International Scholar Hall of Fame. Post graduation, Tracey went on to develop her interest in mind-body performance, obtaining a Masters in Research from the University of Kent and PhD in Psychology from the University of Southampton, both in England.
An avid supporter of girls and women in sport, Tracey is especially interested in working to develop top female players. As a tennis parent herself, Tracey has personal experience of the challenges facing elite juniors and their support teams, and is keen to develop parent/player coaching programs to help make that unique journey as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. Tracey is an Elite Professional Coach (RSPA), PTR Level 2 and a Certified Mental Coach. She is currently developing an online mental skills platform to assist parents, players and coaches in their quest to achieve their highest potential.

In this session, coaches will hear from Grand Slam Mixed Doubles Champion, Mariaan de Swardt, and her colleague, Bruno Snyder, about new ways to get their juniors and adults playing better doubles.
Mariaan de Swardt currently serves as the Director of Racquets at Westwood Country Club in Austin. Originally from South African and now a proud US citizen, Mariaan competed on the professional circuit from 1986 to 2001, achieving a career-high singles ranking of No. 26 and reaching No. 11 in the world in doubles. A formidable presence on the court, she was a key member and captain of the South African Federation Cup Team from 1992 to 2000 before transitioning to coaching the team from 2001 to 2004. She proudly represented South Africa at the Summer Olympics in 1992 and 1996. Her Grand Slam triumphs include two mixed doubles titles with partner David Adams—the 1999 Australian Open and the 2000 French Open—and reaching the Wimbledon women's doubles final alongside Elena Tatarkova in 1999.
Mariaan has also played a significant leadership role off the court, serving for over a decade as Treasurer and player representative on the WTA Board of Directors. After retiring from professional play, she brought her expertise to coaching, including a role at Georgia Tech University as the women's assistant coach with Bryan Shelton. Since 2011, Mariaan has excelled as the Head Pro and Assistant Director of Racquets at River Oaks Country Club and later as the Director of Racquets at The Houstonian Hotel Club & Spa in Houston. Beyond coaching, she has contributed to the sport as a commentator for Eurosport, the USA Network, and South African television.
Bruno Snyder currently serves as the Assistant Director of Racquets at Westwood Country Club in Austin. A three sport racquets professional from Lima, Peru, Bruno offers a wealth of racquet sports experience. He has represented Peru in the Junior Davis Cup on two occasions and has an impressive competitive background. After relocating to Texas, Bruno trained at the renowned John Newcombe Tennis Ranch and competed in USTA-sanctioned tournaments. He also competed in ITF junior tournaments before moving on to college tennis, playing for Lamar University and later transferring to Prairie View A&M University, where he earned a degree in Business Management. Bruno continued his academic journey as a Graduate Assistant while completing his MBA in Business Administration. After a few years working at PepsiCo, Bruno's passion for tennis led him back to the racquets world. He has since held key positions at River Oaks Country Club and The Houstonian Hotel Club & Spa in Houston, excelling in tennis, pickleball, and padel. Bruno remains an avid competitor, regularly playing in tennis, pickleball, and padel tournaments on weekends.

In this interactive session, Devin will provide coaches with tips to help them expertly tailor every drill to meet the needs and skill level of their players.
Devin Crotzer is currently the Manager of Collegiate Tennis for USTA Southern. He is a USPTA/PTR certified teaching pro and holds certifications as a Tennis Performance Trainer (TPT) with the iTPA and is recognized as a High Performance Coach by the USTA. He played collegiate tennis at Cumberland University where he earned a bachelor's degree in management. During his playing career, he amassed wins to help his team finish 11th in the final team rankings. Devin also became the volunteer assistant for the Vanderbilt Men’s program for one year before completing a mechatronics degree and working as an automation engineer for UPS.
Devin has spent 17 years coaching players of all levels and ages, from beginners to professionals. He has coached players competing in Europe at ITF Juniors and Futures events. He was a director at the Junior Training Center of Champions in College Park, Maryland where he specialized in training competitive players ages 11-17. Most recently, he helped Bluegrass Country Club grow its junior program and created participation in middle school, high school, and USTA programs. His passion is grassroots programs that fuel the sports growth and advancement.

In this session, Jack will share insights about a day in the life of a nationally recognized tennis academy and how you can apply some of the same elements of their success into your own program.
Jack Newman is known as one of the finest and longest-tenured junior development coaches in the nation. He founded programs at Fretz Tennis Center in Dallas, at St. Stephen’s School in Austin, and finally, the Austin Tennis Academy. He serves as ATA’s CEO as well as one of the lead coaches, where he assembled an amazing coaching team.
Jack is a USPTA Master Professional and was one of the first US coaches to be certified as a High Performance coach by the USTA. He is a primary coach to Academy players but also takes on the larger role of leading practice, developing curriculum, planning the optimum tournament schedules, and organizing the Academy logistics both at the Academy and on the road. His time is also spent optimizing the training and competition schedules for Academy players. These plans help players accomplish their goals and often lead to leveraging players’ college choice.
Jack has coached over 20 players who have captained and many others who have served as leaders of their college teams, including Matthew Bain at Texas A&M University, Roger Gubser at the University of Texas, Payton Holden at Princeton, Grayson Broadus and Josh Hagar at Notre Dame, and Bailey Forgus at the University of Chicago.
