Providers will review different scenarios encountered at tournament, programming, and events to discuss how to pivot a loss into a win.
Veronica Nicholls has been working for USTA Texas for over 11 years. While she now holds the title of Director of Adult Tennis, she has held several roles in her time with the organization, primarily focusing on programming in both the junior and adult space.
Before joining USTA Texas, Veronica served as a program specialist with Austin Parks and Recreation, where she tripled sports participation for her region. She played tennis at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for 1.5 years before transferring to St. Edward's University to complete her bachelor's degree in kinesiology. She later completed her master's degree in recreation and leisure administration at Texas State University.
Beyond the tennis court, she enjoys staying active with sand volleyball and golf. Veronica is an Ambassador with the Austin Parks Foundation and an avid volunteer with Austin's Special Olympics team.

Parents, players, and coaches will gain new insights in navigating the quickly changing landscape of college tennis at all levels.
Devin Crotzer is currently the Manager of Collegiate Tennis for USTA Southern. He is a USPTA/PTR certified teaching pro and holds certifications as a Tennis Performance Trainer (TPT) with the iTPA and is recognized as a High Performance Coach by the USTA. He played collegiate tennis at Cumberland University where he earned a bachelor's degree in management. During his playing career, he amassed wins to help his team finish 11th in the final team rankings. Devin also became the volunteer assistant for the Vanderbilt Men’s program for one year before completing a mechatronics degree and working as an automation engineer for UPS.
Devin has spent 17 years coaching players of all levels and ages, from beginners to professionals. He has coached players competing in Europe at ITF Juniors and Futures events. He was a director at the Junior Training Center of Champions in College Park, Maryland where he specialized in training competitive players ages 11-17. Most recently, he helped Bluegrass Country Club grow its junior program and created participation in middle school, high school, and USTA programs. His passion is grassroots programs that fuel the sports growth and advancement.

This session will feature insights from USTA’s national leaders in Advocacy and Data Analytics. Learn how to amplify your voice and champion the sport at the local level.
As USTA's Managing Director of Tennis Advocacy, Patrick Briaud leads the organization's national advocacy strategy—embedding world class advocacy practices across all USTA functions while supporting Section leaders to increase access to courts, influence public policy, and drive strategic partnerships. A former All-American and touring pro, Patrick most recently served as Principal with Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. Patrick holds an MBA from Yale University and studied Industrial Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.

Sandeep Patel is a seasoned business intelligence and analytics leader with a proven track record of driving data-driven strategies across sports, hospitality, and media industries. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics at the USTA, he leads initiatives to grow tennis participation nationwide by leveraging advanced analytics, market insights, and cross-functional collaboration. With prior experience at Marriott Vacations Worldwide and NBC Sports Group, Sandeep brings a unique blend of strategic thinking, technical acumen, and team leadership. He holds an MBA from the University of Central Florida and a BS in Mathematics & Statistics from the University of Leeds.
Alex Torres joined the USTA in November 2023 and currently serves as Senior Manager of Analytics & Insights, where he focuses on bridging the gap between data and the USTA’s mission of growing the game. He brings a strong technical foundation and a passion for tennis to his work, helping turn complex data into actionable insights. Prior to joining the USTA, Alex worked in the tech startup space, gaining broad experience with diverse data tools and techniques—particularly in geospatial analysis. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, playing soccer and tennis, and exploring the outdoors with his wife, young son, and two dogs.
Kali Krisik currently serves as Director of Section Development at the USTA office in Orlando, FL. In this role, she acts as a liaison between Sections and National, providing support and resources in order to serve the USTA’s mission of "growing tennis to inspire healthier people and communities everywhere.” Originally from Kansas, Kali graduated from the University of Notre Dame as an ITA All-American, two-time NCAA Semifinalist, and the #2 ranked doubles team in the country. She was a PTR certified and collegiate tennis coach before completing a Master of Business Administration and Master of Sports Administration dual-degree from Ohio University. Prior to the USTA, Kali worked in corporate partnerships for various collegiate and professional sports teams including the University of Notre Dame, United States Air Force Academy, and Portland Trail Blazers.

Megan Rose has served as USTA Coaching’s Managing Director and Head of Business Development & Operations since October 2024. Previously, she was the USTA’s Managing Director of Major Events, overseeing promotion, operation, and strategic direction for USTA professional tennis assets, including the US Open Series, Davis Cup & Billie Jean King Cup, Pro Circuit, World Team Cup, Olympic and Paralympic Games, Pan American Games, Parapan American Games, and Laver Cup. She also managed the US Open Wheelchair and Junior Championships and served as Team Leader for USA Olympic Tennis and USTA’s NGB liaison to the USOPC.
Before the USTA, Megan was the Senior Manager of Member Relations at the WTA, focusing on tournament operations and player relations. She directed the 2015 WTA Rising Stars Invitational and developed the WTA Coach Program.
Megan received a B.S. in Sport Administration from the University of Miami in 2005, where she was a 5-time NCAA All-American, ITA Player of the Year, and ITA National Indoor Champion. She was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. After playing on the WTA Tour, she earned a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg.
Following her playing career, Megan coached Women’s Tennis at Princeton University, leading the team to an Ivy League Championship and a Top 50 ITA Ranking in 2009.
Megan serves on the Advisory Board for The IX Newsletter, is a member of Women in Sport and Events Greater Orlando Chapter, and is a graduate of the WISE Executive Leadership Institute through the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

With over 40 years of experience as a certified tennis teaching professional through both the RSPA and PTR, Mike Carter has dedicated his career to growing the game and mentoring coaches at every level. Recognized by Tennis Industry Magazine as one of the “Top 25 Unsung Heroes of Tennis,” Mike has made a lasting impact on the sport through his leadership, education, and service.
As a national trainer for the USTA, Mike has conducted coaching workshops across the country, helping to shape the development of thousands of tennis instructors. For the past 33 years, he has served USTA Texas, where he currently holds the role of Community Services Program Manager and leads statewide coach education initiatives.
Mike’s lifelong commitment to tennis education and grassroots development continues to inspire players, coaches, and communities across Texas and beyond.

Jamel Madison is a Tennis Professional with over 10 years of experience in customer relations and sports coaching. Tennis has been in his life for the past 20 years, as a player and a coach. His certifications include Eagle Scout, CPR/First Aid Certified, and USPTA Certified.
There was a time when Coach Jamel was a volunteer coach for youth basketball, soccer, and flag football teams, while also being a Senior Accounting Analyst. In 2023, he took a leap of faith and fully invested into being a Tennis Coach. He got the opportunity to fulfill his purpose, when he acquired the full-time role of Assistant Tennis Professional at a Country Club in DFW. Shortly after, he made his coaching services available to the DFW community with the creation of Madison Ace LLC.
With Madison Ace, Coach Jamel creates a fun, safe place for clients to have complete ownership over how they want Tennis to fit into their lifestyle. Ultimately, his goal is to break barriers & stigmas around tennis by making the sport more accessible to people of all walks of life. With 27 years of experience in the racquet sports industry, Meredith Walton is a highly accomplished professional with an extensive athletic background that includes competing on the pro tour and representing a top 10 Division I university. She is honored to have been inducted into two tennis halls of fame, recognizing her exceptional skills and contributions to the sport.
Meredith's coaching and teaching experiences have spanned across various platforms, including serving as a Division I head coach, director of a tennis academy, USTA high performance coach, and a director of country club racquet sports. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise allows her to deliver exceptional service, train industry professionals, and consult on various racquet sport-related matters.
As a leader driven by a passion for service and development, Meredith is constantly seeking new ways to enhance her skills and empower others in the industry. She thrives in leading teams, organizing events, and creating programs that drive revenue and increase participation.
