Senior Project Experience
Timeline
Applications will be available starting in February
Application Phase
In order to complete the application procedure, students must:
Obtain parental permission (regardless of age).
Obtain placement and secure Site Supervisor.
Secure a Faculty Advisor with whom you will schedule weekly appointments. We encourage you to work with a faculty member in the discipline/field of your experience.
Fill out an application online. When you hit submit, you will receive an email confirmation. Your faculty advisor will also receive an email copy of your application.
PRINT A COPY OF THE EMAIL APPLICATION. Secure the necessary signatures on the bottom before submitting the completed application to The Senior Project Coordinator.
Applications: DUE FEBRUARY 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
*If you are working on a project with a partner, both students must submit separate applications.
February - March Application Review Process
Counselors and the Internship Committee review applications. If the committee feels more information is required, your application may be returned to you for a more thorough explanation or additional information. Application revisions are due within three school days.
The applicant will be notified if an interview is necessary. Interview Period (if required by review committee)
By the end of March, Faculty Advisors meet individually with seniors to review expectations and the timeline of assignments. Schedule the first week’s advisor meeting.
Students connect with their site supervisor to complete paperwork requirements and establish first-day expectations.
Start of April, Mandatory Senior Project Orientation
April 7, 2025, Senior Project Begins! and you will be at your site on Monday, April 7th! Good Luck!
End of May Mandatory meetings with Faculty Advisors for all students completed. Review the final paper and prepare for presentation and Exhibition; students are responsible for contacting their faculty advisors for a final meeting.
May 27 - May 29
Senior Presentations will be scheduled. Please keep all days and times open until you are notified of your assigned day. You will present on this day
May 30, 2025, Senior Project Expo Exhibition for ALL participants is MANDATORY.
Third Quarter grades close for Senior Project. Faculty Advisors will notify the Senior Project Coordinator of any concerns. Students who have not met Senior Project expectations will be held accountable.
Students who have not met expectations of the Senior Project will meet with the Senior Project Coordinator, Faculty Advisor Guidance Counselor, and Assistant Principal to discuss options. Students who do meet and fulfill the Senior Class Project expectations may: be required to return to their school schedule or in some cases may not walk at graduation or graduate on time.
