A research project involves conducting research that results in a concrete, "finished product". This product is on display at the Exhibition. Students will engage in extensive research on a detailed topic that is then translated into a tangible final product. Research projects may include: creating a kinetic sculpture, 3D golf disc map, a portable UV hand sanitizer and the list goes on and on...
A research paper requires the student to research an area of academic or career interest. The final product is a 15-page research paper written in MLA format with a minimum of 10 sources. The students must also produce a visual for the Exhibition.
Continuing Education opportunities such as post-high school credit classes, certificate, and certification programs, and formalized education opportunities would all be considered as part of a research project.
