Students are expected to dress in clothes suitable for a professional environment. A professional appearance transfers into a professional mind-set.
The Head of Year reserves the right to make decisions about the suitability of other clothing items not mentioned below.
Tattoos should be covered and excessive jewellery and extreme hairstyles should be avoided. If a student is unsure about the suitability of any type of dress they should check with the their Head of Year before wearing it to school. Subject specific clothing e.g. P.E. kit should only be worn during the lesson. Students who fail to adhere to this dress code will be given a warning; if they fail to follow it again they will be sent home and expected to catch up any missed work. A record of warnings etc. will be maintained and reference to this will be made when the school is asked to complete references or asked for other information by future employers or education establishments.

Whilst students in Years 7-11 are not permitted to use or handle any type of mobile phone at school, we recognise that Sixth Form Students, who are developing into young adults, should be allowed to use digital devices. In the Sixth Form, students may use their mobile phones in the Sixth Form Common Room or in the Sixth Form Study Room at the discretion of Sixth Form Staff but not whilst travelling around the school site.
