The NSTP 2 class of 2023 from the Agusan del Sur School of Arts and Trades (ASSAT) carried out a number of outreach and community service projects in the Agusan del Sur towns of San Francisco and Prosperidad on February 8, 10, 13, and 25, 2023, respectively.
Students took the lead in organizing the conduct of varied events such as clean-up drives that included drainage and gutter cleaning as well as proper garbage segregation in specified areas within the aforementioned municipalities. While some student groups committed to running a feeding program for the children in Santa Irene Daycare Center in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, another group spearheaded a simultaneous tree-planting activity held in Prosperidad and Talacogon.
These actions were taken in accordance with the goals of the corresponding groups. This is consistent with the Civic Welfare Training Service 2, a component of the NSTP program, which exposes students to real-world participation in projects and activities to motivate young people to improve the general welfare and standard of living of their neighborhood and its various institutional components. #Francis Nico C.
