*Please note these letters have no significance other than they are checkpoints for Google Maps to tell me the best way between each. If I just entered directions for Rehobeth Beach to Seattle the Google Maps directions would be wildly different.*

This route is adapted from the Adventure Cycling Association's 'Northern Tier' Route. The reason for going with this option as opposed to other well-mapped routes is the heat. Because I was limited to starting this in June, it forces me to deal with the warmer summer months. After researching the average temperatures of many of the great plains states, I decided I wanted to get as far north as I could so I wouldn't be handicapped to riding in the mornings/evenings. This also gives me the opportunity to bike one of the most beautiful roads in America in "Going-to-the-Sun Road" at Glacier National Park, Montana.

After discussing with several bicycle tourists in anticipation of this trip, many recommended I take the 'UP' in Michigan as opposed to the Northern Tier option of going through Iowa, then Illinois, Indiana. All biking west of Duluth is part of the Northern Tier route.

If you have any connections to places for a safe place to stay at night along the trip (even just a backyard to camp in), I am fully vaccinated and would love to hear from you! 301-512-9325 or wilarmstrong4@gmail.com.
