Metabolism and Exposure Lab

About

The Snyder Lab is part of the Aging + Discovery Center (ACDC) and the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences within the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University. The Snyder Lab works to quantify, understand, predict, and manipulate the connections between metabolism, exposures, and health outcomes.  We conduct a wide range of fundamental research and quantitatively study the metabolism of drugs, the metabolic fate of environmental exposures in the human body, and the normal and pathologic adaptations of human metabolism.   We also conduct disease focused research, which includes metabolic conditions, many types of cancer, and investigating modifiable risk factors for autism spectrum disorder. To accomplish these goals, the lab uses cutting edge analytical chemistry, most notably liquid chromatography- high resolution mass spectrometry, and works with a wide net of collaborators.
