As of 2022, Dior is one of the top luxury brands in fashion offering a variety of products from chic accessories to high end beauty essentials. Around the world, people see the Dior name and immediately think luxury. The brand took a page out of their competitor’s, Louis Vuitton, book on how to market to an international audience. Since 2015, their creative team has been focusing on specific looks for men and women as well as investing in social media campaigns, especially in China. One of Dior's global ambassadors, the South Korean Blackpink popstar- Jisoo, attracted a huge social media presence for Paris Fashion Week 2021. The live show had over 140 million viewers streaming.
The brand’s next priority is to blend the online and offline shopping experience. Their website rebrand has caused sales to increase in areas such as Europe and the Middle East as well as less common places like Canada and Australia. According to Edouard Aubin, an analyst at Morgan Stanley, Dior has been the fastest growing brand for high end clothing and leather goods from 2020 to 2021. Their sales have rapidly grown by approximately 50% between 2019 and 2021. For 2021, Dior Couture made about $7.62 billion in sales and a total of $11.21 billion for the overall brand. In comparison, HSBC reports that Louis Vuitton had about $18.99 billion in sales, Chanel had $12.52 billion and Gucci had around $10.49 billion.
As of 2023, Dior spent $10.2 billion on advertising and promotional activities and had approximately $99.18 billion in revenue. Asia contributed to 35% of Dior’s total revenue along with the United States who contributed 26%.
