The Inquiry and Breadth portion of the portfolio is 60% of the portfolio. 

Review the AP Classroom and the introductions to the course expectations.

Week 2 AP STUDIO ART

Work on experimentation with mediums and materials. Record your thoughts and process in your sketchbook. Share your findings with your group and peers. 

Watch assigned AP videos on AP Central. 

Create a plan for a first project, with thumbnail sketches, color swatches, and some research on artists that are working in a style that you appreciate. 

Week 3 

Sketchbook Experimentation check and share

Set goal in sketchbook for your goals of experimentation for the week, and document daily in your sketchbook. We will do experimentation for 2 more weeks. Please try different mediums and materials and do not worry about a finished project. 

Week 4 

Create a weekly goal in the form of a question and record findings in your sketchbook

Create a list of 5 possible Inquiry topics to guide your work in your Concentration area. 

Present your findings and 5 topics on FRI. 9/6

9/9-9/13

We have AP videos assigned due on 9/16

Last week of experimentation, and we are going to select a focus for your Inquiry!

Make sure to keep adding to your investigative sketchbook. 

9/16-9/27

Create  written plan with concept sketches for a 2 week project. Gather materials needed. 

Begin project, record your inquiry, and investigation/discoveries.

Due 9/27

AP VIDEOS due 9/23 some of you have extras to make up. 

9/30-10/4

Group Critique with finished project and 150 character statement. 

Start a new 2 week project. Create a concept sketch and inquiry statement to guide your work. Take progress photos. Document your thoughts
