Week TWO: 8/19-8/23
This week we will review the Principles of Design. The 7 terms are defined and shown in the videos. Please take notes and draw a visual representation of the terms.
We will have a quiz on all of the vocabulary on Friday 8/23.
Line Art warm up assignment.
Create a line art Zen Doodle/Tangle design. Due by next week

Week 3
Create a Paper Portrait collage with SHAPES!
Self-portrait with focus on the face. It can have a body, but the portrait focuses on the face.
Cut out you pieces, arrange from back to front. DO NOT GLUE until you have played with the composition and arrangement.
Glue the back portions down first, creating your background setting.
Then place the portrait over the background design.
Glue neatly!
Materials: Construction paper, glue sticks, scissors. sketchbook.
9/8-9/12 Cartooning
Daily guided drawing for M, T, W/TH,
Skills: Line, Shape, Space, Form, value
finish a cartoon with complete back ground and added creative details.
Credit will be awarded on Friday.
9/15-9/19 Value and Contrast
Value Scale practice sheet - reproduce the values with a pencil. Practice neat shading habits, and learn about the drawing pencils.
We will apply the techniques to a portrait of a face.

Steps to Drawing the Figure - Draw lightly!
Draw the Center line
Draw the stick figure structure
Add 3-d cylinders and circular joints
Add clothing and details, bear down on important lines
Add shading, and background.
Due 10/10.
