This is the reports section of explore. In here you can see the data about all your other columns and rows.
There are several report modes available:
Affinity report: This calculates the Affinity Score, which is the sum of squared differences between the %Row values & a specified target (the first row), on a given row.
Separated rank report: This shows each column in its wn table with the rows to allows for easier analysis on a target by target basis.
Combined rank report: This shows a combined view of all the columns and rows in a single table.
The codebook is on the left hand side and this is where you have access to all the survey respondents good by the categories. You can open up each category by clicking on the Arrow right next to the checkbox and drill down to find any subcategory or question that you are looking for.
The checkboxes are used to select the items that you would like to add to the crosstab. You can add items by using the action buttons in the codebook section, or by using the options in the right-click menu.
When selected, you can add whole categories and sub-categories to the codebook.
The “add code to multiple” option lets you quickly combine the selected items with existing rows, columns or tables already in the codebook.
The search bar lets you search for any term within the codebook. The filter bar lets you filter for any keyword that is present in the current search results in the codebook. Advanced search options give you more ways to target your search to find what you are looking for specifically. The search option are defined as:
Only search selected: Will only search the selected categoies or sub categories
Search again: Allows you to search the entire codebook again withou having to refresh
Search modes: Choose between Exact phrase, Any keyword, All keywords or starting with search modes
Search custom audiences: restricts your search to only the custom audiences
Search for: Choose to search by the title of the category or by the code of the questions (more advanced)
The change survey dropdown lets you change the selected survey, add a trending survey and hide a survey from being shown in the crosstab.
Lets you change the table base to an appropriate tablebase/audience. This will apply to the entire codebook you are working on and also any stat apps. You can always change this to the tablebase you would like to use. The same also applies for weights. Some surveys may only have 1 weight, in that case you cannot change the weights. Note that weights cannot be created within Explore.
The menu is located in the top right and has several options:
Title mode: Changing the title mode from the menu affects titles in ALL of Explore
Data items: Choose which data items to show in the crosstab.
Manage report items: Manage which rows or columns to delete.
Data context: Choose which level of data to display. Changing the daata time also overrides the title mode settings until the title mode is changed.
Swap rows/columns: Swap the rows and columns.
N-Tiles: Create N-tiles from a selected target row, column or table.
Highlight values: Choose the highlight threshold and colours to apply on the cells
Heamap: Apply a heatmap throught the crosstab which will highlight index values by quartiles, quintiles or a custom value.
Stability flag: Shows a * or ** beside data that is stable or highly uunstable. This flag canno currently be turned off
Significance testing: Applies a significance test on the rows or columns and highlights value greater than 99%, 95% or 90%
Save audience: Save a custom audience to your own folder or a shared folder using this function
Note that depending on which sectionn you are in Explore, some menu options may not be available
The coding grid lets you perform advanced calculations in your reports. You have access to more tools when working in the coding grid.
Visual code builder: This tool lets you manually code in a target or insight. In the visual code builder you will have access to the codebook and manual coding tools as well as being able to view a live coding statement preview as you build a code.
N-Tiles: Create N-Tiles of any selected item (only work when one item is selected). In the coding grid view, created N-Tiles will appear below the selected target
Swap button: Allows you to quickly swap rows/columns
Duplicate button allows you to duplicate selected items
Send to: Use the send to button to send selected items to tables, columns or rows. Works with multiple items selected
Combine: Combine selected items with this button. When clicked, you will see a dropdown of available combine options that can be used to complete the task
Separate count:
Change title mode: Change the title mode of selected items. Using this in the coding grid allows you to pick and choose which item to change
Assign group name: Assign a custom group name to items. This is useful for organizing visualizations
Delete selected items: Delete selected items from the crosstab and coding grid
